We have trained 30 inclusion champions across our business, recognisable by their I am Hanson polo shirts and hard hats. They are responsible for instilling an inclusive workplace culture, to allow everyone to be themselves without fear of judgement.
Our champions act as role models for best practice, promoting all aspects of diversity, inclusion and equality in the workplace, and are the point of contact for any questions. In addition, they appropriately and constructively challenge non-inclusive situations and conduct education sessions such as toolbox talks at sites or on Microsoft Teams.
All diversity and inclusion champions complete an external ‘train the trainer’ course as well as relevant internal training on topics such as unconscious bias.
